2017/18 Fundraising Priorities

By funding new technology, equipment and valuable, innovative programs, the patients of the Sturgeon Community Hospital continue to receive the very best in medical care.

The following priority reflects the ongoing development of the Sturgeon as an outstanding community hospital.  Our primary emphasis will be the following technology enhancements and urgently needed programs.

The Sturgeon Community Hospital plays an important role in supporting the colorectal cancer screening program and gastroenterology services.  Over 2200 procedures are performed each year at the Sturgeon.

There continues to be an incredible demand on the program.  To meet the needs of our growing program and community, an increase in additional and immediate assessments are required.

The current wait time for a diagnostic procedure is 9 1/2 months.  With technology and diagnostic equipment enhancements, the Hospital's goal is to significantly reduce wait times to eight weeks.

Upper Extremity Care & Research ($250,000):

Over the past five years, the Sturgeon Community Hospital has become a very active center for orthopaedic upper extremity care.  The goal is to establish the Sturgeon as an upper extremity centre of excellence over the next few years by providing high quality patient care through undertaking rigorous clinical outcome research.
