The Sturgeon Community Hospital Foundation (SCHF) is inviting everyone to join "Together for the Sturgeon," a community-wide month of caring culminating on March 21, 2025. Aimed at supporting the Foundation's mission of keeping exceptional healthcare close to home, the event is a month-long campaign to inspire connection, generosity, and collective impact.
Taryn Moorhouse, Fund Development Manager of the Foundation, shared why events like this are so vital.
"We are a small, but tight-knit community," Moorhouse says. " Our mission is to enhance patient care by funding advanced medical equipment, supporting innovation, and investing in staff education. Events like these make that possible."
She recalled a touching moment during last year’s Christmas vendor market, when a young boy wanted to buy something special for his grandmother, a patient in the Sturgeon, but hesitated, unsure if he could afford it. A stranger stepped forward, handing him $20 so he could make his purchase.
"It’s small moments like these that demonstrate the spirit of our community," she says.
