Fall and winter mark the return of Giving Season. Thousands of Albertans participate in holiday-themed charity events every year in November and December to give back to the community.
Some give their time—through volunteering initiatives—while others donate directly to charities or buy tickets to charitable galas.
That’s why we call this month the peak of the season of giving. Holidays put people in the giving mood, and November and December are packed full of global holidays.

The Sturgeon Community Hospital Foundation has had a fantastic year contributing to health care in the City of St. Albert, North Edmonton, Sturgeon County, and surrounding communities. The foundation has helped to support programs such as the SURGE Research Program to advance the orthopaedic upper limb surgical program.
Donations have fueled programs to enhance existing units and offerings, such as a large donation from the The Order of St. Lazarius to provide a space for families at the hospital.
These are just a few examples to how our donors support the Sturgeon Community Hospital, and we’re excited to see what programs this Giving Season can bring to the City of St. Albert, Sturgeon County, and North Edmonton.
